Why FromOdisha exists
Odisha’s culture is carried through everyday life: in the hands of an artisan, the rhythm of a loom, the ingredients in a regional kitchen, the knowledge of a farmer, and the stories shared across generations.
Our mission is to document these stories with care and make them easier to understand. We want to help readers learn where a product comes from, who makes it, how it is used, and why it matters.
One district, many stories
We are exploring Odisha district by district. A district may have one recognised product, several important products, and many cultural traditions that deserve attention.
Our approach is not to reduce a place to a single label. It is to reveal the wider network of crafts, agriculture, food, people, landscapes, and knowledge connected to it.
